Christians & Nations & Their Relations
Let us first consult what the Bible says about nations, as it is always our first foundation. A good starting place to learn about nations is 1 Peter 2. Peter starts the very beginning of his letter calling believers in Jesus, “aliens, scattered”. His language denotes how we are in a very important sense separated and isolated from the world. He follows that up later in the letter describing the new entity God created out of those scattered aliens.
1 Peter 2:9-10 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God.”
