CERN is going to fire up the LHC on the day of the eclipse, it is reported.
The eclipse will create an "X" marking the spot where the destroyer shall emerge.
Incidentally, that's pretty-much right on top of the New Madrid fault, so if you're within a couple hundred miles of that anything more than 5' high is fucked.
